Concervatorio Santa Cecilia - AV Technician

In October 2018 I was nominated Sound and Visual Technician at the Conservatoire Santa Cecilia, a role that has evolved to the position of Senior and has been my profession until May 2022. In the last three years I have been the main AV technician working in the building, so I had all the responsibilities within the sound department. Here I had the opportunity to work with talented artists. These sessions required a deep understanding of acoustics, microphone placement, and mixing techniques, and I was able to bring my technical knowledge and artistic vision to the table to help the artists achieve their desired sound.

Centro Ricerche Musicali - Sound & Production Techncician

The CRM - Centro Ricerche Musicali is a centre where artists, musicians, scientists, architects and researchers work together. With them I’ve worked for festivals, concerts and sound art installations; from building the equipment till the performance, I was taking care of all the sound aspects. The best aspect of this role was that they were considering me as a creative more than a technician, so I had the possibility to grow really close to artistic management.

I was the main assistant of the laboratories and personal assistant of the Art Director. Duties were going from soldering circuits, to writing sound algorithms, to fit up festivals, concerts and sound art installations around Italy. With the CRM I've learned how to work in a small team, where all the technical equipment is built specially for the event.

I've been lucky to grow my skills in a multidisciplinary context where arts, sciences and technologies are merged all in one.

Fondazione Isabella Scelsi

During my career, the pandemic took a lot but also gave me access to the digital events world. I have been nominated Sound Specialist at the Fondazione Isabella Scelsi after they heard about the successful system I was using at the Conservatoire. Main duties were: design the AV system, stream, record and publish concerts or webinars.

Università Roma Tre - Lecturer of Digital Music Technologies

I’m a proficient talker, able to jump from technical to non-technical conversations without losing the goal. This skill and my passion for theory helped me to be directly called by the University of Roma Tre for the position of Lecturer of Music technologies. The aim of the laboratory is to provide the student with basic skills concerning electroacoustic and multimedia technologies applied to music. In particular, the students will be involved in the realisation of compositional and performative projects which foresee a practical use of the acquired technical specifications. Furthermore, the laboratory intends to offer the possibility of acquiring basic knowledge in the field of music theory. A highly experienced audio-visual technician for live performance, Gabrielas specialised technical knowledge and skills will be vital in order to train the UK team in operating the production to ensure it runs correctly. Founded in 2008 and located in the Dalston district of London, United Kingdom, Cafe OTO is a venue for experimental music ranging across all genres from folk, rock, noise, electronica, free jazz, experimental and free improvisation performances.

Cafe OTO provides a home for creative new music that exists outside of the mainstream with an evening programme of adventurous live music seven nights a week.
